But I don’t mean like cleaning with cleaning products, but I mean clean like the olympic move. Brendan one of the guys at the gym graciously agreed to teach me last night, it was surprisingly easy to learn. And he said that is because the snatch is really hard to learn so everything else is easy… Btw I love this song;
They are a group called McFly, they are British and my best friend Chel and I have been obsessed with them since high school. They are basically one of the main reasons we want to get over to England one day.
So what news do I have to tell you???? Hm….. well I learned to clean so that’s cool. I’ve been running and working out more. I’ve also eaten a bit of crap this week and I’m learning to be ok with this happening every once and awhile. I’m pretty happy that I’m becoming more comfortable with eating something that isn’t necessarily paleo without feeling like I should get rid of it. I feel like I’ve come a ways away from those feelings- thanks in part to my friend Carla. So that’s good…. Oh and something super awesome happened.
I got an internship for next semester!! I’ll be interning in the Public Defender’s Office!!! I’m so excited because it sounds like I will be getting a lot of hands on experience and I want to go into criminal law. So basically it is just kinda like a dream come true! And now the not so dream come true part… paperwork. Doing all the paperwork to make sure I get the credits I need while doing the internship.
So that’s basically all that’s going on right now. I will be leaving in like 4 hours for Geneseo, which will be the last cross-country race of my collegiate career. A little sad I will admit, but great still at the same time. So I need to get some homework done!
So until later, TTFN.
So I’m attempting to create a new way of thinking for myself. I’m not saying that after this semester with the drinking and throwing up and downward spiral that I just became a happy person again. I still constantly feel like unhappy, it’s mostly geared nowadays towards my body. I want to be skinnier. So I’ve come to a few conclusions along with a bunch of wonderful motivation pictures that I will sprinkle all over this post like toppings on a pizza. But I was talking with Matt (the guy I work with, in case you forgot) and he showed me a workout program called Crossfit it’s like super hardcore parcore (that’s my new saying btw) and the video that really stuck with me today is here. It’s about these women who through this program have come to a new realization that beautiful isn’t necessarily skinny, but fit. Having a body that can accomplish things and is powerful and not just “good-looking” but is actually capable of doing hard work.
So I’m currently focusing on my running, basically getting my mileage back up there around my slightly hectic schedule. Well, not hectic exactly more like simply time-consuming since my internship goes from 9-5 p.m. but my mom usually has to drop me off around 8 in the morning. I usually just take that time in the morning to read/practice my LSATs because I take them for the 1st time next week, but that’s a different topic entirely so I digress…
So like I said working in running is a problem, but one that I’ve now fixed with my friend Renee aka Ne Ne. We’ve decided to start running in the morning at 6 a.m. because it works in both our schedules. I was already running in addition to our Insanity workouts and Ne Ne wanted to, but wasn’t motivated enough to do so on her own (or so she said). This way we get 2 workouts in a day and quite frankly I think we see more of each other than our families do.
So that’s going on. And unfortunately Ne Ne and I had decided to redo week 2 of Insanity. Technically for us week 2 was last week, but due to a series of unfortunate events we only did 2 of the days last week and so we didn’t feel that it was right to continue to week 3 because we didn’t really do week 2. So we are currently set back a week, but hey maybe it’ll be good for us in the long run.
So that is basically what is going on in the work out world of Sara currently. And quite honestly it is now 10 p.m. and I happen to be exhausted. So instead of continuing on and informing you of the coolness that occurred at my internship today, I think I shall throw up the rest of the motivational pictures and head to bed. After all I wake up at 5:30 a.m. now…
Besides I have tomorrow to tell you all about my women’s equality stuff. But if you are super curious and you live in New York, simply google Governor Cuomo’s 10 point Women’s Equality Act. I’ll update you on all the info tomorrow or the next day depending upon how busy I am.
So Until later, TTFN.
Yes I took the title from a spongebob episode… sue me. Anyways, this past week I started my internship with Assemblywoman Russell and it has been a blast thus far. I only did 2 days this week because well the legislature doesn’t believe in work on Fridays (yay 3 day weekend!) and Tuesday was too busy of a day to get me started, so Wednesday and Thursday were my two days. So I guess I’ll tell you everything!
First off, no I don’t just run around and get coffee. I made copies of things thank you very much. 😛 But that’s seriously only 1 of the many things I do. I also; answer the phone, check the mail, bring bills and such to the appropriate committees and offices, bring things to Addie while she’s in session on the Assembly floor, sit in the Assembly and listen to the debates, research, and a few other odds and ends.
Mainly I’m around Matt the only other person who works in the office. He’s wicked nice, he just graduated from UAlbany and is going to UVL in the fall. He’s been showing me around the past few days and basically I’ve been following him around like a puppy.. but on Thursday I got to run a few errands on my own. Which is the reason for my title, I’m actually starting to be able to find my way around. I’m pretty proud of myself.
Also, I’ve learned a valuable lesson, flats are my best option. Heels look pretty but they hurt. So I’m going to be judging my 1 day a week in which I will wear heels, every other day… flats.
I’m just learning so much about the legislature, and the ways everything work and just getting all this info. Plus, Addie is really great! She generally is concerned about me, she asks if I have questions, she makes sure that I understand what’s going on. I just like her. But I’ll talk about that more another day. I’m going to go take some Nyquil and go to bed, I’ve been sick the past few days and I’m attempting to get as much rest as possible.
So until later, TTFN.
So as I said before Alumni Board was this past weekend and a lot of lovely things happened (besides all the crazy drinking); First off, I saw Roger Linden, the school lawyer crack multiple jokes (I’ve never seen him besides with a serious face), and then wear jeans! Again, I’ve never seen him in anything besides a 3 piece suit. I hugged the President of the school and we had lovely chats about the most random crap because hey, that’s just Schwaller.
I met a woman who I hope to intern with possibly next spring. I got on P.B.’s and Josh’s nerves tremendously… that part was super fun. I got to see my besties A.j. and his gf/ my new bff Sue and drink with them and become their surrogate daughter.. we can discuss that at a later date…
I talked with a woman named Amy Kellog on the Alumni Board about a program that works in tandem with Albany Law for my masters/J.D. and I heard back from a possible internship opportunity that I have to call on Monday to know whether or not I am able to have an internship this summer in Albany…
I got to bond with my little, I got a bunch of free stuff at Springfest. I had one of my good friends suggest we date and I kinda freaked out and just stared him and made the whole situation super awkward…. Still don’t know what I’m going to do about that.
