So I’m giving y’all a heads up that this will be my last post until after the marathon. Tomorrow I am heading up north and won’t have internet and I won’t have any time to blog before because I have a few errands to run. I’m currently writing this in my last ditch attempt to stay up really late because I’m getting up wicked early tomorrow in the hopes that I will be crashing at a ridiculous time the following night. I have to get up at 4 at the absolute latest Sunday morning so I’m getting ready. As my lover (Steve Prefontaine)’s coach Bill Bowerman would say in without limits.
Hay’s in the barn.
Until later, TTFN.
t’s been a hectic and delightful few days. Monday was straight up nuts-o-spaghettio. But my club Middle Ground met with the director of food on campus and I’m in love with him. He’s an adorable 60-year-old man whose totally environmentally friendly, so he fully supports our club (FYI we are the environmental club on campus). So that was great.
Last night was Tuesday so I had my Middle Ground meeting and my Operation Military Support club meetings. I love Operation Military Support or OMS because I’m with all the ROTC guys. Which can be both fun and challenging at the same time. Sometimes we get things done and sometimes (kinda like last night) we don’t really get anything done…. It’s kinda like they’re 5 they have the attention span of goldfish really. Either way they’re a fun bunch to hang out with and I love them regardless even though they drive me up a wall half the time.
Anywho, it’s been terrific weather up in the Potsdam the past few days and so yesterday I walked around barefoot (no I won’t put up another picture of my foot, I think you’ve had enough of those). And I was going to do it again today but the ground was colder today so I decided to wear shoes although I did run outside which was a nice change of pace from the Dreadmill. Oh! Also my Prefontaine jersey came yesterday, unfortunately it’s too small so I’m exchanging it for a medium. But I took a picture of it for y’all so that I will have it and won’t forget when I ge the bigger size. Here it is:
It’s beautiful. It’s the jersey (obviously no the exact one) that Steve Prefontaine wore when he was in High School running. It’s the jersey he got recognized in by Bill Dellinger to be recruited for the University of Oregon. And trust me if they had jerseys like the one he wore in college, I would’ve bought that too.
So yeah that’s pretty much all the excitement that’s going on right now. I’m not a very exciting person just fyi. Oh, I’m going to a conference from tomorrow until Sunday so I’ll definitely try to take pictures and update you blogging buddies, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get on again until Sunday.
So until later, TTFN.
University of Oregon. That’s it, that’s all I have to say. Ok, well that’s not all I have to say, but still. Ok so University of Oregon is to me my dream school to go to for law school after I finish up my 4 years here at good ole SUNY Potsdam. Anywho, it has a great Environmental Law program (which is what I want to go into), it’s GPA and LSAT requirements aren’t too harsh. And compared to the other Law school I was looking into……Sidenote: The other law school I was looking into was one I could commute to from my house, which would save me money because I wouldn’t have to live there……….. it is around $10,000 cheaper, even with living out of state, AND going there full time and living on campus. So yeah basically this place is my dream school… Not only is it all these things, but also one of my running idols- Steve Prefontaine went to school there and was coached by Bill Bowerman, the founder of Nike.
No one quite understood my level of excitement for this place and the fact that the great Steve Prefontaine ran there when I was explaining my goal of going there to them.
I told my mom about it and she supports me, she spouted the normal; “Keep your grades up, take the LSATs, get in, etc…”
So yeah that’s basically all I have for now, I tried to go swimming last night to see if I could, even though I told myself I wasn’t going to try working out till today. Well God intervened because the pool was closed.
So instead of being all grimey from the pool, I just looked super fly walking around my house in my swimming outfit. No lie; I straight up enjoying wearing my pants down below my butt, it makes me feel “cool” haha. Anywho, my housemates thought I was weird going around taking pictures of myself.
So I belive that’s it for now, until later TTFN.
