Primaries and It’s A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Primaries were yesterday for SGA Vice-President.  And well, I made it past the primaries!  Oh happy day!!  It was pretty much an amazing day yesterday.  And I will tell you why my friends.

First: I ran my normal 2 mile route in the morning and I calculated by the time I started and finished that I had run 8:30 miles without even trying! 8:30, I mean I know that’s not super fast or anything, but without trying I thought that was fairly impressive.

Second: I got a package from my mommy.  Don’t worry, I took lots of pictures!  It was an easter basket type care package.

This is what it looked like when I opened it up.  It was full of lots of goodies! Like camo eggs that my mom had fully of jelly beans, money, my headphones, and little  notes.

I love the fact that my mom gave me camo eggs instead of the normal brightly colored eggs.  I thought it was hilarious and my friends were totally jealous.

I also got dried apples, nut/chocolate clusters, peeps (my personal favorite), and a chocolate bunny<- I gave this to one of my house mates because I don’t personally like chocolate all that much.

And personally my favorite bunch of stuff: chalk, bubbles, m&ms, and sweettearts.  I used the m&ms and sweettearts in my trail mix for my backpacking trip along with the dried apples and nut/chocolate clusters.

I used the chalk today to write all over our academic quad (after I got the ok of course) to campaign for the upcoming election.  Alas, I have no pictures mainly because I figured I looked insane enough playing with chalk and writing my name everywhere, I didn’t need to add taking pictures of my masterpieces onto the list of reasons I’m insane.

So I’m campaigning like a champion, speaking of which I am going to redo my banner and posters so that I can win.  Because I am determined and that is a fact! So until later, TTFN.

And if I’m elected……free hugs for everyone!

So here’s the lowdown.  I’ve been doing networking to the best of my abilities, which to be honest I feel like my networking skills aren’t that great.  But, I’ve been going around telling people to vote for me for SGA Vice-President.  I even went to ISC and AGC to talk to the greek community.  It appears that after I left talking at AGC last night, they all pretty much unanimously voted that they were going to vote for me.  Mostly, because I’m a greek and they think it’d be a great thing to have a greek on the SGA E-board.  But hey all I care about is votes, which kinda makes me feel like:

Haha I’m probably not really, I just like to think so.  Anywho…. I had my backpacking class for the 2nd time this semester (it only meets like 6 times) and we were doing compass orienteering.  My group thought we were doing really bad, but we ended up doing fairly well, so I feel confident in myself to not get completely lost on the backpacking trip next weekend. 🙂

Speaking of orienteering.  I ran a little over 4 miles yesterday and I ended partially doing a route I’d never thought to do before.  So I’m very excited by my new-found running route in dear old Potsdam.

Can’t you tell I’m excited?

Haha joking! This is the picture I took to put on my campaign posters.  I took it just to be semi-professional so that I don’t have some really awkward photo or anything.  Whatever, it’s the best I could do.  Anywho, I have to start getting ready for my run and start doing a variety of things that need doing before the day starts.

So I hope everyone has a awesomesauce type day.  Until later, TTFN.

Oh boy oh boy. What a productive-esc time.

Alrighty peoples.  Yesterday was Friday and I had no classes!  My one class on Fridays was cancelled so that was super exciting.  So I did things that always occupy my normal exciting life.  I cleaned, did laundry, went to a meeting, ate food, and campaigned a little.  Speaking of which…………. I need to make my fliers.  But that’s a different topic.  Oh and I finally tried the Artisana butters- soooooooooooooooo good!  I even took a picture! They look a little odd because they are raw so they aren’t like as smooth as peanut butter, but they’re still delicious.  So here a pic of my little snack:

Yesterday was also…..RELAY FOR LIFE!  As I sit here writing this I should probably warn y’all that I’m running off of 3 hours of sleep.  All that I got since around 6:30 this morning because that is the first time I went to bed……….So if this doesn’t make much sense, sorry. Anywho, it was a great time, I did it last year albeit not part of a sorority team.

It was….shall we say….difficult to get sisters to do their part and take their turn walking.  So me, the pledges, and a like 3 sisters did the majority of the work.  Needless to say, this is not acceptable and I’m going to be bringing it up at our weekly meeting.  It made for unneccessary frustrations and there was some unprofessional type behaviour.  But on a positive note the pledges were almost the best out of everyone.  They walked the longest, didn’t complain, got the least amount of sleep (next to me of course), and were simply very good.  It’s sad to me that pledges put forth more effort in a service event, when they aren’t even technically in the house compared to sisters that are.  But that’s enough of that rant.   Oh this is Brittany, she’s kinda adorable and is one of my pledges:

Oh ok, so Relay was held in our field house.  And in the field house there is a rock wall……I now like this rock wall.  I climbed up all the way to the top, albeit on the easy side.  But hey, I’m pretty proud of that because I’ve never done that before.  Even though I had a little kid straight up whopping my ass on the whole thing, but she was adorable so it’s ok.  Anywho, I took a picture of the wall and here it is!

Ok so this is actually a picture of the medium side, which I tried but I only made it like half way up.  Which is ok, because I tied with my friend Dan who was racing me and climbing the hard side- fyi Dan is a butthead.  I actually met him from going to the NGLA conference, yeah he’s that Dan.  Haha but he’s a fun time.  Oh, I also campaigned a lot at the beginning, spreading my name around and telling people to vote for me.  I believe that I want the SGA Vice-Presidency bad enough that I can win, regardless of the fact that I’m running against like 4 candidates.  So that’s pretty much it for now.  I’m super hungry and so I’m going to go make myself some pancakes ;).

Oh and last quick tidbit- I’m going to see the Hunger Games tonite so I’ll let everyone know if it was good or not!
Until later, TTFN.
